  2. My aspect of native life • For this presentation, I have chosen the Pueblo Religion.

  3. Who Did they worship? • The pueblo Indians worshiped several different things. Some of these things are: • Nature • Kachinas

  4. Where and how did they worship • Pueblo Indians worshipped in Kivas. Kivas are underground chambers used for religious ceremonies. They used these to worship Kachinas. • In the book, the natives were banned from practicing ceremonies in Kivas, and were forced to practice them in secret,

  5. Nature • The Pueblo were reliant on agriculture, so they respected nature. Many of them had prayers, often performed through dances. These prayers and dances addressed nature requesting fertility and good hunts or harvests.

  6. Kachina • The Kachina religion holds the philosophy that their ancestors spirits, or, Kachinas, live and communicate with tribes for half of each year. While practicing rituals, natives would wear ornate masks. • Kachinas could represent anything, from something in the natural world, to a revered ancestor. There could have been kachinas for • Corn, wind, nature, weather, and many other things.
