  2. The Route • Sir Francis Drake sailed from 1568-1580. • He made a total of 3 voyages. • One was at a Mexican port called San Juan de Ulua. • The other two were to the West Indies.

  3. The Life of Sir Francis Drake When he first traveled to the new world with his cousin John Hawkins. They and his crew were captured at the Mexican port, Drake and his cousin were the only ones to escape.

  4. His Homeland • He sailed for Britain!!!!

  5. Why Did He Go! • Sir Francis Drake was a privateer for Britain. Which means he was a pirate for one country or nation. • He would fined ships with silver and gold and took there treasure for him and his queen. • He traveled with a total of six ships.

  7. The Death of Sir Francis Drake • He lived until he was Fifty-six years old. • He died of “blood flux”thought to have been Yellow fever. • He was buried in a lead coffin.
