What is a Teacher Project Proposal? • A unique and innovative classroom project that will advance student learning • A project that will help to develop innovative curriculum resource materials • An initiative that a district will augment or continue to fund • Research into programs for individual schools or district wide utilization • Professional development for teachers

  3. How Much Can I Receive for a Teacher Project? • $1200 for a single teacher project • $1500 for a group(2 or more) project Funding Can be Used for: • Teacher time to prepare and conduct the project at $40 an hour • Supplies • Teacher produced instructional material

  4. What Should the Teacher Project Proposal look like? • Five pages or less (double spaced) • 14 point font and ½ inch margins • Summary of project • Rationale/Need • Information about school/student/district • Objectives/Purpose • Impact on student learning and/or teaching

  5. What Should the Teacher Project Proposal Look Like? • Activities that project requires • Timeline of events/activities • NYS Standards that project addresses • Itemized budget of how funding will be spent • Assessment/follow up • Collaborations

  6. What Else Does the Teacher Project Proposal Need? • Union president and superintendent need to complete the sign off sheet. • Complete anonymity!! Do not mention the name of your school or district. • Due by November 6, 2009 no later than 3:45 p.m. • Check the Teacher Project Proposal guide for more details
