  1. CRC/Committee for the Republic of Canada Political Briefing Thursday April 8th, 2010 by Pascal Chevrier

  2. Afghanistan ranks 42nd in area just after France

  3. Helmand • Superficie: 58 584 km² (Similar to Nova Scotia) • Population: 745 000 hab. (Moitié de la population de Montréal) • + de 90% de la production d’opium/ héroïne mondial • La production d’opium est 40 fois plus grande depuis le début des opérations de l’OTAN. • De plus en plus d’haschich et de marijuana

  4. Who is in charge of Helmand?

  5. “Afghan drug production forms and consolidates transnational organized crime in Eurasia, as well as – and that is highly perilous- provides huge financial and recruiting resources to terrorist and extremist organizations, illegal infrastructures, supplies of armaments, explosives and communication facilities aimed at operations against peaceful population.” Viktor Ivanov, Russian Head of Federal Drug Control Service

  6. Dagestan suicide bombings have Russia looking to Putin The Dagestan suicide bombings on Wednesday were the latest in a spate of attacks that has many in Russia looking to Vladimir Putin, whose reputation was built on tough talk and action against insurgents.

  7. The Drug epidemic • Iran: • 130 000 new addicts every year reports Reuters • ¼ of young men are addicts in Tehran…(to be confirmed) • Russia: • 2.5 million drug addicts, 90% to afghan heroin (mostly between 18-39 years old), growth of 80 000 per year • Violent increase of death rate from HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis • 30 000 between 18-24 died last year alone from heroin overdoses • NATO countries: 10 000 lives that is 50 times more then the military losses!!!

  8. Obama’s Opium War 2009-2010 January 30, 2009 (LPAC)--In a recent speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington, Gen. McKiernan argued that the opium trade is the wellspring of the insurgency, and that no success is possible without the elimination of the opium trade. In an earlier speech at the same Atlantic Council, Gen. Barry McCaffrey had denounced the British, by name, for sabotaging any efforts to change the NATO rules of engagement and allow for the elimination of the opium. At a March 30 Pentagon briefing, spokesman Geoff Morrell answered a journalist's question about whether "the U.S. military, in particular, should get more involved in countering the drug threat" in Afghanistan, by stating for the record: "Overall counter-narcotics efforts... it's not a focus of our efforts. It is not a priority." General John Craddock January, 2009: Gen. Bantz John Craddock, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), the highest military commander in Europe approves NATO military operations against drug traffickers, narco-lords, and drug refineries and warehouses in Afghanistan. But this victory for an effective strategy is short-lived. On January 28, 2009, the German news weekly, Der Spiegel receives a leak of a classified NATO document in which Craddock approves the targetting of narco-traffickers and the bombing of narcotics laboratories in Afghanistan. Shortly thereafter, Craddock's rotation as SACEUR ends, and the anti-opium offensive is effectively ended. Richard Holbrooke January 24, 2009 (LPAC)--In response to the announcement this week of the appointment of Richard Holbrooke as the Obama Administration's special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Lyndon LaRouche reiterated his demand that George Soros be "shut down, right now.'' Soros, LaRouche declared, "is so pivotal to the British opium war operations, whether in Afghanistan/Pakistan, or in Mexico and other parts of the Western Hemisphere, that no victory is possible in either of those areas, so long as Soros is allowed to operate.'' General Mc Kirnan General McChrystal

  9. What can be done: The Myanmar example Myanmar had no opium production before it was annexed by the British Empire during the 19th century. According to the UN Office of Drug Control’s 2009 World Drug Report: Myanmar has reduced opium production from 105,000 hectares in 2001 to 28,500 hectares in 2008. During the same time the production had gone from 1,097 metric tons to 410 metric tons in 2005-8. In 2000 was begun a 15 years program to totally eradicate opium from Myanmar by 2014. Farmers would turn in their opium seeds and receive money in return, and in some cases, were guaranteed markets for the replacement crops. Even more important is that the Myanmar government attempted immediately to bring in three things: electricity, roads, and literacy. A huge rural electrification project, just like Franklin D. Roosevelt did in the 1930’s. So, it is possible. Bomb the opium fields and get agreement with the regional governments especially Russia, and get the troops out, asap!

  10. Telegraph-sponsored coup d’état…

  11. A set up for assassination The militia groupings are anti-government much closer to the Confederates style then the Revolutionary warriors of 1776…

  12. Mike Vanderboegh’s blog “Sipsey Street Irregulars”

  14. To end it nicely… “The only way you get moral attitude of mankind of any durable value is that way. You have to show man, that we have a purpose for existing in the universe. That we, as a species, are making a contribution to the universe which is a necessary one, and a unique one. And that becomes our moral purpose. It becomes our confidence in what it is to be a human being: that they, too, can participate in this creativity. And there are no limits to this creativity.” Lyndon LaRouche March 1st, 2010 So, bomb the opium fields! and impeach Obama!
