  3. BSAC Preceptorship Programme and OPAT UK OPAT initiative to support introduction of OPAT services wherever the clinical need exists Preceptorship support is central to this aim Elements of successful preceptorship support for OPAT will vary depending on need

Preceptorship support On-line business case toolkit Bespoke business case development Asking Trusts to share successful business cases OPAT database Currently free to Trusts with 1 year support package Hosted by Trust to ensure data security and ownership 33 Trusts have so far expressed interest in installing Good practice recommendations Evidence-based recommendations for OPAT service standards

  5. National Registry Currently under development. Will house data collected from OPAT centres across UK Geographic overview by type, bed days saved, treatment regimens, outcomes Comprehensive picture of OPAT to aid further development Training workshops 6-8 training workshops will be held at 3-4 locations in 2012 Plans to repeat if funding is available By application events for those planning to introduce, develop or redevelop services Opportunity to network and share resources, experience, expertise Preceptorship support

  6. OPAT e-resources www.e-opat.com Will house on-line resources Live on-line networking community Trusts implementing the OPAT database are being invited to submit their OPAT services and team details to be profiled on the site Preceptorship support
