Nebraska Wesleyan University Pointers INTRAMURAL SPORTS • Call the game tight at the beginning, establish control. • 2 players tangled up – make sure nothing too severe, calm them down, no call. • Talk to the players lots– Good Hustle, Watch the Lane, Hands Off • Is there an advantage gained for one team? • Watch the players, not the ball. • Blow whistle first, then mechanic. Get together with official, away from teams if: simultaneous whistles, not for sure what happened. • Use Strong Whistle and Proper Mechanics, Hustle!! , Communicate. • Know you have made bad call, stick with it, have other officials back, I have your back along with supervisors, be confident.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Sportsmanship Rating INTRAMURAL SPORTS 4.0 = Excellent Sporting Behavior Participants cooperate fully—Respectful of other participants, spectators, and officials 3.5 = Good Sporting Behavior Positive behavior overall—Generally respectful towards participants spectators and officials with an exception of a few minor incidents 3.0 = Acceptable sporting behavior Generally respectful—teams are more persistent in disagreeing with calls or show occasional unsporting behavior towards opponents. Any team receiving verbal warning will receive no higher than a 3.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS 2.0 = Sporting behavior needs improvement Participants are consistently disrespectful towards officials or opponent throughout contest. 1.5-.5 = Unacceptable Sporting Behavior Teams/participants receiving any ejections, multiple warnings or penalties for unsporting behavior shall receive no higher than a 1.5 and the Unacceptable Sportsmanship Rating report will be filled out. 0 = Season Ending Team/players were uncooperative and out of control before, during or after intramural sports contest

  21. Nebraska Wesleyan University Score Keepers and the Score Sheet INTRAMURAL SPORTS • Fill in Team Name and Jersey Color • Complete the running score as the game is being played. Fill in the Score boxes for the 1st half, 2nd half and Total. • Fill in if any Time Outs are taken by teams • Keep track of Possession by using the boxes • Keep track of Team Fouls for the 1st half and 2nd half. Use a different marking for each half. • Write in each players (or have the players do it) First Name and Last Initial, the #Number on the pinnie they are using, and individual Fouls. (using a different marking for 1st and 2nd half)

  23. Nebraska Wesleyan University Score Keepers Additional INFO INTRAMURAL SPORTS • All fouls count towards team fouls. • At 5 fouls a player is ejected from the game. Let the officials/players know when someone has reached 4 fouls • Bonus (1+1) starts on the 7th team foul. 2 shot foul for 10 or more team fouls. (Each half) • REMINDER: The final 2 minutes of the game the clock stops for fouls, violations or on officials whistle.
