Director • What does a director do? • Directors are the creative leads of the film. They are employed by the producer or executive producer who are the highest people in the rankings when it comes to film. The directors job is to channel their creative thoughts into the production right from the start to the final cut. • What are they responsible for? • Film directors make creative decisions and come up with ideas in order to create how the overall finish of the look of the film. Including things such as film location, actors, angles, special affects and much more.

  3. Steven Spielberg • Who is he? • Steven Allan Spielberg (born December 18, 1946) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He began his career in the New Hollywood era and is currently the most commerciallysuccessful. Spielberg is the recipient of various accolades, including three Academy Awards (with two for Best Director), a Kennedy Center honor, a Cecil B. DeMilleAward , and an AfL Life Achievement Award. It was the highest-grossing film until the release of Star Wars in 1977.   4. Camera operator • What does a camera operator do? • A camera operator is the person who captures the action. They film what is happening. This ranges from something as an establishing location to fast, intense fight scene. They take on board what the director wants and makes sure it is done correct. • Some tips for a camera operator would be to be confident in what you think Is the best possible shot. For example if the director is telling you to do a low angle but you think a high angle would be better, then suggest a different approach because in the end it is your work.

  5. Sir Roger Deakins • Sir Roger Deakins is a legendary Cinematographer, who got rejected from film school. He is now age 72 and a Two-time Oscar-winning cinematographer best known for his effective and simple camera work on films such as “Skyfall,” “Blade Runner 2049” and “1917.” He has collaborated with directors such as the Coen brothers, Sam Mendes and Denis Villeneuve. • His finest work to date is The Shawshank Redemption.  is at the top of IMDB as the greatest film of all time.   6. Editor • A film editor manages all the material filmed on the set of the production such as, dialogue, camera footage, sound, special effects and graphics. When they have sorted all of this into the desired product they wanted, then they will call it the final cut and send it to the producers and director. • Their main role in the post-production process and have a huge impact in defining the final cut. They also almost an average of $59,500 as an annual salary as per the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The average hourly rate of a video editor can be $40 (in the US).   7. Michael Kahn • Michael Kahn, born on 8 December 1930 is a legendary American film editor. His first big break was when he worked on the film “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” Starring Richard Dreyfuss and directed by Steven Spielberg. This was his first film with Spielberg and was the first of many. Today they have collaborated on all Spielberg's films except for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), which was edited by Carol Littleton. • Since his first film back in 1976, he has won: 3 academy award for best film editing 2 Bafta awards for best selling 1 satellite award for best film editing And 1 prime time creative Emmy award.

  8. Art director • An art director is responsible for the visual style of to film. They work closely with the director whilst working on the script and locations. Once they have taken all of the directs wishes into account, they then go off and work with their team In order to create their interpretation of the design. They look at things like the mood of each scene an the colors needed to set the right vibe. Whilst they cant be at every set, they use designers in other countries who are preparing a set and it is their job to make sure everything remains to the directors standard of quality and that it all fits into the overall look of the film.

  9. Nathan Crowley • Nathan Crowley is a well known British production designer, and an ex art director. He is age 56 and is best known for his work with Christopher Nolan on the award winning film ‘the dark knight’ starring heath ledger as the joker. He has also worked on the blockbuster movies such as interstellar, Dunkirk and first man.

  10. Producer • A producer is the person at the heart of the film. They are responsible for launching the a project, finding funds and funding it. They hire everyone from directors and key roles all the way to extras. Above them is the executive producer. The producer answers to the executive producer about the film's budget. The executive producer does not get as involved with things such as the day-to-day production like a producer does.

  11. Kathleen Kennedy • Kathleen Kennedy is the current president of Lucasfilm and a producer. she co-founded the production company Amblin Entertainment with Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg, back in 1981. Her first film as a producer was E.T. which is now one of the biggest films ever made. • E.T awards:  four Academy Awards: Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects Editing and Best Visual Effects.
