  3. UI Employment Expo • User-friendly • No cost way to recruit UI students • Enables you to post full-time or internship positions • Search for students using criteria you set • Schedule on-campus interviews

  4. When Using UI Employment Expo • You MUST disable your popup blocker. • To do this, at the top of the page go to Tools, Pop-up Blocker and choose Turn off Pop-up Blocker

  5. Setting Up An Account • Set up a free account • If an account already exists for your organization, click on register, search for your company, then put in your contact info • If your organization doesn’t have an account, you will need to create a new one

  6. When Setting Up an Account • Fields with asterisks are required fields • Do not use parentheses in phone numbers • Enter info about your company and yourself, and hit the “Register” button • Your account will be activated within 24-48 hours

  7. Complete All The Required Fields

  8. Account Activation Email • You’ll receive an email when your account is activated • Instructions on how to post your job or search for students are in the email

  9. Using Expo • Once your account is activated, log in using your username and password • You will be directed to your home page • Home Page contains Announcements, Resource Library, Quick Links and Calendar • Menu items are available which we’ll discuss next

  11. Expo • Menu items are available - these are the tabs across the top of your home page • Include: My Profile, Student Search, Resume Books, My Jobs, On-Campus Interviews and Career Events

  12. “My Profile” tab • This is where you can edit your contact or organization information at any time • Simply click on the edit button by each section • Please provide a valid email address and phone number so we can keep you informed

  14. “Student Search” tab • Search for students according to specific criteria • You can search for a combination of things such as major, graduation date, GPA and more • The next slide shows the screens as you are able to make search selections

  16. Student Search Results • You may place a check mark next to each student’s name to learn more about those select students, or select the entire group • You can select “Create Packet” to view resumes or send them to your email Inbox

  18. “Resume Books” tab • Electronic file folders of students in specific majors – not all majors are currently set up • You can search based on your criteria • We encourage you to set up your own saved searches

  20. Resume Book Search Results • After you’ve searched within a resume book, you can save that search to use again • Create a packet to view on-screen or email to your Inbox

  22. “My Jobs” tab • This tab is where you will post new positions or view old ones • You’ll be able to choose from • “Jobs – Current and Past” • “Add new job”

  24. “Jobs –Current and Past” • Click on job title or job ID to view a job • Edit option available so you can make changes to the positions • PAUSE

  25. “Jobs – Current and Past,” shows lists of jobs you’ve posted Clicking on one displays the actual posting

  26. “Add New Job” • Post a new position, save it and submit • Your job will be reviewed and approved by Pomerantz Career Center with in 24-48 hrs • Be sure to draft the description in a way that is appealing and descriptive for students

  27. Click on the “My Jobs” Tab, then “Add New Job”, fill out all the required fields, and hit “save” at the bottom.

  28. “On-Campus Interviews” tab • If you are interested in conducting on-campus interviews, contact our Recruiting Coordinator at 319-335-1023 • One or more schedules will be set up for you • Once set up, click on the job ID or job title to view schedule

  30. On-Campus Interviews • Once the schedule is set up, you can view Description, Schedule and Students • Job description • Timeline for you and students • Requirements for the position • Required documents • Sessions/interview schedules • “Preselect Activity” box

  33. On-Campus Interviews “Manage List” • “Manage List” is a list of students who requested an interview • This will allow you to select students to interview, select as alternates or not to interview

  37. “Career Events” tab • List of events; fairs, information sessions and Pomerantz Career Center sponsored programs • Click on the event to view details of the event

If you’re posting Engineering positions and need assistance, please call 319-335-6280. If you’re posting jobs for MBA students only, please call 319-335-1021.
