  1. New Govt. Guideline Will Not Allow You to Buy RO, here is Why

  2. New Govt. Guideline Will Not Allow You to Buy RO, here is Why • There will be a large shift in the water purifier and filtering industry as the government has passed new guidelines which clearly state that the use of certain water filters is not required in cases when municipal water contains a certain number of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). • The Reverse Osmosis (RO) filter is unnecessary in cases where the TDS are below 500 mg per liter. Additionally, the water recovery from these filters must be between 60 and 75 percent to ensure reduced wastage of water. But, Kitz Filters have a solution to the problem of water wastage from RO filters. You will soon come to know why they are a leader in water purification devices. • The move comes after the National Green Tribunal ordered directions to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to ban water purifiers in areas where municipal water has 500 milligrams of total dissolved solids in the water.

  3. New Govt. Guideline Will Not Allow You to Buy RO, here is Why • In India, various states have different levels of TDS, meaning some areas may not even require RO filters. Using RO filters on the water with a TDS of 500 mg per liter Removes valuable Minerals from the water in a process known as demineralization. • Besides that, RO filters are prone to wasting water. It is seen that some filters only produce 1 liter of water for every 4 liters of water that are filtered. • Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a process by which minerals are forced out of the water through pressure. In reverse osmosis water filters, water is pushed through a membrane that has a size restriction. Therefore, allowing water through and restricting minerals with certain sizes, letting a small amount through.

  4. Where Will it be Applicable? • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) are inorganic and minute amounts of organic minerals that are dissolved in water. Although water is treated to Maintain the amount of TDS in municipal water, this TDS level may remain high or be appropriate for human consumption. • It all depends on the original quality of the water and the treatment of the water at municipal water treatment plants. • According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the palatability of water is graded based on the total content of TDS in water. The grading system is as follows: • Below 300 mg per liter = Excellent • 900 mg per liter = Poor • Above 1,200 mg = Unpalatable/Unacceptable

  5. Groundwater vs Municipal Water TDS Levels • Water sourced from the ground is usually the main source of water that is taken and treated by municipal corporations before being distributed to the public. However, most areas deem this water unpalatable and unusable for consumption. Hence, the need for water purification devices in households. • However, a particular example of a study done in Patna highlights that not all municipal water is of poor quality. Based on a paper on the groundwater quality in Patna, Bihar, 100 water samples of groundwater from 10 sites showed that the groundwater quality was within national and even international standards. • Furthermore, there were revelations that the water quality of tap water at a Patna railway station was found to have better quality than several bottled water options being sold at the railway station. • The tests carried out were to measure various characteristics of the water including Conductivity, pH, Total Hardness, Total Alkalinity, Sulphate, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), proving that not all water needs RO filtration processing.

  6. Chlorine and Fluorine in Ground Water • Two other elements that have been found in water are Chlorine and Fluorine. Both elements can cause health problems when consumed in excessive amounts regularly. • Around 86 districts showed the above-the-average or excessive presence of Chlorine in drinking water, while 191 districts have excessive amounts of Fluorine in their water. • The thresholds are 1000 mg/L for Chlorine and 1.5 mg/L for Fluorine in groundwater. Note that it is beneficial to have less than 1 mg/L Fluorine in groundwater.

  7. What is Wrong with the Use of RO Water Filters? • Reverse osmosis is only useful when there is an excessive amount of minerals in the water. If mineral quantities are already permissible, this process could lead to mineral amounts being further reduced and the water becoming demineralized. • Apart from the removal of minerals that can be beneficial in small amounts, the reverse osmosis filtration process can be wasteful as well. In trying to filter and remove as many minerals as possible, an excessive amount of water is discarded, resulting in the wastage of precious water. • This is especially wasteful when the water that is being sent into the RO water filter is already safe enough to drink! That would be an obvious waste of water which is such an important resource.

  8. The solution to Reverse Osmosis with Kitz Micro Filter JIS Standard Water Purifiers • Unlike other reverse osmosis water filters, the filtering process of the Kitz Micro Filter ensures that desirable mineral levels are maintained and that there is no water loss! Thereby, solving two common problems associated with water purification in India. • Thus, more water can be churned out that is safe to drink and up to mark when it comes to appropriate TDS that is enforced by the World Health Organization. • The improved technology developed by the Made in Japan Kitz filter ensures that it uses the most modern approaches to purifying water that has high levels of total dissolved solids. • If you are conscious about water and want a filter that offers zero water wastage and at the same time performs as the best purifier for municipal water, Kitz is the best solution for you! You can Install the Kitz water filter without worrying about what the minerals in your municipal water will be, our technology is automated to ensure that only the best water is released.

  9. End Note • With new government guidelines coming into force, you want to make sure that the water you drink is safe and abides by national and international norms. For that to happen, you need a water filter with technology that carefully purifies your water without wasting a lot. • The Kitz Micro Filter is a solution to all your problems as well as one which will be by the new government guidelines while keeping your health a top priority!
