  2. Fashion Merchandiser Fashion merchandisers are in charge of keeping up with, and analyzing trends, production costs, sale numbers, and the direction the fashion industry is moving. Fashion merchandisers are also responsible for the visual aspect of the fashion in stores, setting up displays and arranging the clothing.

  3. Duties/Abilities • Create visual displays and design the way the clothing in a store is displayed • Devise marketing strategies to make the clothing more desirable, increasing sales • Anticipate what will be visually appealing customer, what they will prefer • Fashion merchandisers must be creative, resourceful and hard working, as well as imaginative, with an eye for the aesthetic

  4. Education • A certificate or diploma in fashion merchandising is a great base education • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree will allow one to obtain a more advanced career • Experience is just as important as education, more experience will provide many more career opportunities

  5. Salary/Availability • Fashion merchandising careers are expected to grow 21-35% in the next ten years, which is a very positive outlook for this field • A visual merchandiser with 3-5 years experience can expect to make $32,881 - $52,785
