  16. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • A. El pecado le hace propenso a ser indiferente y rebelde hacia Cristo. El pecado ciega la mente. • A. Sin makes one inclined to be indifferent and rebellious against Christ. It blinds the mind.

  17. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • B. Saben que si creen en Cristo tendrán que arrepentirse, bautizarse y cambiar su vida. Por eso rehúsan creer. • B. They know that if they believe in Christ, they will have to repent, be baptized and change their life. Therefore they refuse to believe.

  18. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • C. No quieren perder su “libertad” de hacer lo que quieran; por eso, no necesitan a Cristo, la iglesia, la Biblia, la oración. • C. They do not want to lose their “liberty” to do as they please; therefore, they do not need Christ, the church, the Bible, prayer.

  19. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 5. Porque la mente de los tales está entenebrecida (llena de oscuridad, tinieblas). Rom. 1:20, 21; 2 Cor. 4:4. • 5. Because the mind of such people is darkened (full of obscurity, darkness). Rom. 1:20, 21; 2 Cor. 4:4.

  20. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • A. Está entenebrecida la mente por causa de la ignorancia. Efes. 4:18. No conocen a Cristo, su enseñanza. • A. Their mind is darkened because of ignorance. Eph. 4:18. They don’t know Christ, His teaching.

  21. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • B. No saben que la enseñanza de Cristo resuelve problemas (matrimonio, criar hijos, toda relación humana). • B. They don’t know that the teaching of Christ solves problems (marriage, rear-ing children, every human relationship).

  22. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • C. No conocen la bendición de tener conciencia limpia, contentamiento, consuelo en los tiempos difíciles. • C. They don’t know the blessing of having a clean conscience, content-ment, consolation in difficult times.

  23. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • D. Se están robando a sí mismos de bendiciones: oración, esperanza de la vida eterna, no temer la muerte. • D. They are robbing themselves of blessings: prayer, hope of eternal life, not fearing death.

  24. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • E. Muchos critican la Biblia aunque sean del todo ignorantes de ella. Sólo hablan de Caín, el arca, tres días. • E. Many criticize the Bible although they are entirely ignorant of it. Only talk of Cain, the ark, three days.

  25. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 6. Porque son ingratos, Rom. 1:21; Efes. 5:20; Col. 3:17. Vida, salud, familia, alimento, techo, empleo. • 6. Because they are ungrateful, Rom. 1:21; Eph. 5:20; Col. 3:17. Life, health, family, food, roof, employment.

  26. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 7. Porque son orgullosos. Jn. 5:44. Sólo quieren la aceptación de sus familiares y amigos, no la de Dios. • 7. Because they are proud. Jn. 5:44. Only want the acceptance of their family and friends, not that of God.

  27. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • A. No quieren obedecer Luc. 9:23-27.Golpe al orgullo. Están bien como están (“mejor que muchos miembros”). • A. Don’t want to obey Lk 9:23-27. Blow to their pride. They’re all right as they are (“better than many members”).

  28. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • B. Exaltan sus pensamientos. Tienen argumentos satisfactorios, muy convincentes para ellos. 2 Cor. 10:3-5. • B. They exalt their thoughts. Have arguments that are satisfactory, very convincing for them. 2 Cor. 10:3-5.

  29. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 8. Están resueltos a vivir sin Cristo. Salmo 14:1; 57:1; Rom. 1:28. Niegan su propia naturaleza y se reducen al nivel de bestias. • 8. They are determined to live without Christ. Ps. 14:1; 57:1; Rom. 1:18. They deny their own nature, and reduce themselves to the level of beasts.

  30. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 9. Por causa de la supremacía de lo material sobre lo espiritual. Luc. 8:11-14; 1 Tim. 6:9, 10. • 9. Because of the supremacy of the material over the spiritual. Lk. 8:11-14; 1 Tim. 6:9, 10.

  31. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • 10. Porque son indiferentes. Cristo, la Biblia, la iglesia no son importantes para ellos. Mat. 22:1-4; Luc. 14:16-20. • 10. Because they are indifferent. Christ, the Bible, the church are not important for them. Matt. 22:1-4; Lk. 14:16-20.

  32. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • Conclusión. 1 Cor. 16:13; Efes. 6:10-12; 1 Pet. 3:15… Leer Biblia, orar, ser activo, resistir tentación, “Escrito está” • Conclusion. 1 Cor. 16:13; Eph. 6:10-12; 1 Pet. 3:15… Read Bible, pray, be active, resist temptation, “It is written.”

  33. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • -- No tenga vergüenza de Cristo. Mat. 10:32, 33 no se limita a la confesión hecha antes del bautismo. • -- Never be ashamed of Christ. Matt. 10:32, 33 is not limited to the confession made before baptism.

  34. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • ¿Por qué creer en Cristo? Es Dios, Jn. 1:1; 5:18; 8:58; 14:9... Perdonó pecados y era adorado porque era Dios. • Why believe in Christ? He is God, Jn. 1:1; 5:18; 8:58; 14:9… He forgave sins and was worshipped because He is God.

  35. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • Ningún otro ha traído tantas bendi-ciones a la humanidad: salvación, reconciliación con Dios, esperanza. • No other has brought so many bless-ings to humanity: salvation, reconcilia-tion with God, hope.

  36. ¿Por qué no creen? – Why don’t they believe? • Jesús era perfecto en todo sentido. No pudo haber hecho mejor. Muchos no creen en El, pero El no tiene la culpa. • Jesus was perfect in every way. He could not have done better. Many do not believe in Him, but it is not His fault.
