  1. OMG! Algebra is easy. First, an “expression” is just a number sentence. For example, if you wanted to buy the Wii games and you didn’t know how much these games cost you could show this “number expression” by writing 3 x _________ . The blank is there because it’s what you don’t know, the cost of each game. With algebra, instead of a blank you put a letter. It could be any letter X, Z, G… Usually the letter is the first letter of the thing you talking about. So to write an algebraic expression you would write: 3 x C. 3 because you want 3 games and C because you don’t know the Cost of each game.

  2. Mrs. Sweetland gives 3 bonus points for each extra-credit problem correctly completed. If b stands for the number of extra-credit problems correctly completed, which expression is equal to the total number of bonus points? • a. b x 3 b. b + 3 • c. b ÷ 3 d. b - 3 • e. 3 > b A because times usually all wais goes first.

  3. Find the value of y. x - y = y x = 10 • A. 32 • B. 16 • C. 4 • D. 5 • E. 2 The answer is d because 10 minus 5 equals 5.

  4. You know how to find the sum of the angles of a polygon. The sum of the angles for a triangle (3 sides) is 180. The sum of the angles of a quadrilateral (4 sides) is 360. The sum of the angles of a pentagon (5 sides) is 540. If “S” is the amount of sides, which expression can be used to illustrate this way of finding the sum of the angles of any polygon. • A. (S – 2) * 180 • B. S + (2 + 180) • C. 180 * S • D. (360 x 2) 45 90 45 90 45 You add up the angles and the sum for any triangle is 180 45 180

  5. 120 90 90 100 100 90 90 110 You add up the angles and the sum for any square or rectangle or 4 sided figure and the sum is 380 110 You add up the angles and the sum for any 5 sided figure and the sum is 540 90 110 90 110 90 100 90 100 360 120 540

  6. 180 360 720 I know i am right because first I gust guessed but then I took seven twenty divided by six and got one twenty .then I took one twenty times six and got 720 .first I started of with this one to learn it because is is a lot easy 540

  7. 100ft First of all you should add all the numbers that you do know so then once you get the question marks you can just add them to all the other ones combined. the ones on the top are 100 because you take 65 pulse 35.the to get this one you need to take 50 +75=125. then add it all up together to get . 125ft How much fencing is needed to go around the perimeter of this yard? 450ft

  8. How much sod is needed to cover this yard?

  9. One angle of a RIGHT triangle is 30 degrees. Which expression shows how to find the measure of the third angle? The answer is ??? 30 90 • A. 3* 180=A • 3 * 90 + 60=A • (360 / 3) - 90 • D. 180 – 90 – 30=A

  10. Calvin’s little brother jumped up and down. “Here they come!” shouted Calvin. Around the corner came the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Half of the people were on floats; 25% were in marching bands; clowns made up 1/8; TV stars made up 1/16; and there were 10 city officials, or 1/16. How many people were in the parade, and how many were in each group? Thanksgiving Parade 1\2Floats 1\16tv stars 1\8 clowns

  11. About how much of each hour does a radio program schedule for weather? • 1/10 • B. 2/10 • C. 3/10 • D. 5/10 • E. 10/10 How many minutes of each hour does a radio program schedule for weather?

  12. Question 19What is the value of the expression below when x = 6 and y = 2? A.46 8x – y B. 84 C. 12 D. 4 The answer is a because I just took 86-2 and got 46 .Then I looked at the choices and found that 46 was a cho9ise so I chose it. Question 19

  13. Question 25 • Question 25 What should be the value for x in the triangle shown? • A. 70° • B. 90° • C. 10° • D. 40° the answer to this problem is a.70 degrees. Because every triangle has on eighty degrees so then in knew that the answer is 70 because 50+60+70=180. 

  14. Question 22 Which correctly describes the rule between x and y as shown in the table The answer to this problem is c. y=x*2+1. because Question 22
