  2. HOW DOES KNEE WORKES? Knee is the most important structure organised as to make the harmonious movement of legs possible and allows one to stand in straight posture. The working of knee is better understood only when we know the complex structure of the part and components of knee. Knee joint consists of FEMUR (the thigh bone), TIBIA (the shinbone or bigger lower leg bone), FIBULA (small lower thigh bone), PATELLA (the knee cap), Tendons, Ligaments, Cartilages and Muscles. Knee is the most important structure organised as to make the harmonious movement of legs possible and allows one to stand in straight posture. The working of knee is better understood only when we know the complex structure of the part and components of knee. Knee joint consists of FEMUR (the thigh bone), TIBIA (the shinbone or bigger lower leg bone), FIBULA (small lower thigh bone), PATELLA (the knee cap), Tendons, Ligaments, Cartilages and Muscles.

  3. Patella (knee cap) is the triangular bone present at front of knee joint, attached by tendons to the muscles of thigh and helps the knee to be in straight posture. The joint is of hinge type and an overall movement of flexion, extension and slight inward and outward rotational movement is provided.
