What is a Web Quest? • Guided independent research: • Selected websites • Learning goals / questions to answer • Self-directed research to: • Answer assigned questions • Investigate your own questions • Build new ideas • Gain new insights • Record what you have learned: • Make a note –digital or paper • You will use these notes in the future

  4. The Big Questions: What jobs are going to be in demand in 2020? What are and will be the expected wages of these jobs? What are the education and experience requirements of these jobs? What jobs are losing demand? Where are the jobs going to be?

  5. Canada’s Top 50 Jobs Read through this article. What can you learn about the top jobs in Canada? What are the worst jobs in Canada? What changes are happening in the job market? What jobs on the Top 50 List interest you? Where are the best/worst job opportunities?

  6. Job Growth Read through this report from Forbes. What are the fastest growing jobs? Why are they growing so quickly? What are the slowest growing jobs? Why are they declining? Which jobs are you most interested in? What are some of the requirements? What are the wages? Why do you think these are growing/declining the way they are?

  7. The Job Bank… Visit the Government of Canada Job Bank. Have a look around at the different menu options –what information could you find here? What questions could you answer on the Job Bank site? How could the Job Bank help you to find your future career? Using the Job Bank, research one job of your choice, with as much detail as you like. What have you learned? Have you checked this page?

  8. After the Quest… Make a note in your passport: Future Careers Web Quest: Complete! Make sure you have your notes complete What did you learn? How can you use what you have learned in the future?
