  3. Rational: Background • A lot of activities going on in the ITS standardisation arena • High political impetus for ICT standardisation • 2020 strategy. Digital Agenda • Mandates M/338, M/453 • ITS AP and Directive • US-EU Implementing agreement • Need of involvement of all stakeholders

  4. ITS Standardisation in Europe Cooperation Results ICT for safe, smart and clean road mobility Support to EU Policies Global • Mandates • ICT standardisation WP Monitoring Coordination Cooperation International European Cooperation

  5. Objectives of the Group • Requested by the eSafety SG meeting • Bringing together ESOs and stakeholders representatives • To come up with a credible plan how to take European/international; ITS standardisation forward • How to fasten standardisation process • How to share the responsibilities • How to ensure involvement of appropriate stakeholders

  6. Conclusions/Next Steps/Actions • Relaunch of ITSSG, ensuring involvement of relevant stakeholders • Provide quarterly information about ITS standardisation activities (liaison officer?) • iCar Support to disseminate ITS standardisation activities • Questionnaire to be addressed to stakeholders • expectations/needs on standardisation activities and • involvement in the working groups • Groupwill remain on stand by, depending on the action points
