  2. History of University of Muhammadiyah Malang University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was founded in 1964, on the initiative of the characters and the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah Malang. At its inception the University of Muhammadiyah Malang is a branch of the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta, which was established by the Foundation of Higher Education of Muhammadiyah Jakarta by the Notary R. No. Sihojo Wongsowidjojo in Jakarta. 71-gal tang June 19, 1963..

  3. On 1 July 1968, University of Muhammadiyah Malang became an official university stand-alone (apart from Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta), whose activities were in the hands of Muhammadiyah Malang College Foundation,

  4. In 1968, University of Muhammadiyah Malang add new faculties, namely the Faculty of Social Welfare which is fi'lial of the Faculty of Social Welfare, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta. Thus, when the University of Muhammadiyah Malang has had four faculties. In addition, the Guidance and Counseling Department of Religious Education of the Faculty of Religious registered as under the auspices of the Department of Religion at the Faculty of Tarbiyah name.

Faculties • At the start up, open up some new UMM faculty, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Social), Law, Economics and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (Guidance and Counseling) and the Department of Religious Studies (Branch of University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta FAI). As time goes by and the demands of the times, the UMM has opened other faculties, namely the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences consists of D3 and S1 Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy and Graduate Program in each of which expands some majors. Department or program of study at UMM both level 3 diploma, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral 40 percent has been accredited A BAN-PT.

Ranking and Achievement • UMM achievements include: Campus Excellence Award winner (AKU) in East Java since 2008, winners of Anugerah I Kartika VII Kopertis East Java as the World's campus in East Java, Runner Up Efforts Puritama Adi Class II (for Rusunawa), Runner Up ASEAN Energy Award, Indonesia ranked 18th in Webometrics (even had the 8th ranked Indonesia), the 5th World rating Rich Files webometrics content 5 stars rating for Repository webometrics Indonesia,

  15. Foreign Cooperation UMM has been working with off-campus parties, both from domestic and foreign institutions. For foreign cooperation in progress include: Erasmus Mundus, ACICIS, American Peace Corps, Engineering BGP Netherlands, AMINEF, AIESEC, EESTEC, USAID, AUSAID, American Corner, Corner Iran, and others.
