  1. Welcome to Business Education!!

  2. Safety First, Safety Always!! • Never give your name, address, telephone number, school, teacher or parent’s names, addresses, or telephone numbers to ANYONE you meet on the internet. • Never give your e-mail password to anyone (even your best friend!) other than my teachers/parents. • Never send pictures of yourself or others to anyone over the internet without your teacher/parents permission.

  3. Safety Continued • Never fill out any form or request online that asks me for information about my school, family, or myself without first asking for permission from my teacher/parents. • I will tell my teacher/parents if I see any bad language or pictures on the internet, or if anyone makes me feel nervous or uncomfortable online. • I will not use any articles, stories, or other works I find online and pretend it is my own.

One More About Safety! • Never use bad language online. • Always practice safe computing, and check for viruses whenever I borrow a disk from someone, download something from the internet, or receive an attachment. • I will be a good online citizen and not participate in any activity that hurts others or is against the law or the school’s policy. • Make sure you return your safety pledge to Ms. Downs ASAP!!

  5. Syllabus Review C3B4Me • You’ll receive 100 points a week for work ethic/ participation. • Attitude • Dependability • Promptness • Attendance • Equipment Care • Safety • Teamwork • Initiative • Adaptability • Collaboration

  6. Classroom Rules • Be in your seat and prepared to work before the bell rings! • Bring all necessary materials to class every day • Don’t tamper with computer hardware or software AT ANY TIME • You may not download information from the internet or bring data from home and load onto classroom computers without teacher approval

  7. Just a Few More! • Respect the teacher and school property AT ALL TIMES! • Absolutely NO food, drink, candy, or gum in the Business Education lab • Always follow the TCBOE code of conduct at all times

  8. Corrective Action • Verbal Warning • Student conference with additional assignments • Parent contact with additional assignment • Internet privileges revoked for a period of time to be determined by the teacher. Alternative assignments will be given. • Office referral

  9. FBLA • FBLA- Future Business Leaders of America • Co-Curricular: FBLA is incorporated into our course of study and daily assignments • FBLA prepares students for “real world” professional experiences • I encourage all of my students to join FBLA!! It is a really great learning opportunity with fun competitions! • Please bring back your membership application by August 23,2012
