This overview explores the Anabaptist movement, which emerged during the Radical Reformation in the 16th century. Anabaptists, whose name means "re-baptizers," advocated for adult baptism and rejected infant baptism, believing that individuals should choose their faith. They emphasized the teachings of Jesus and the authority of the Bible while promoting nonviolence and communal living. The movement gained traction in Saxony and Thuringia, chiefly through figures like Thomas Munzer. This guide delves into their core beliefs, distinctive practices, and broader historical context.
