  5. houses for the future.

  6. Energy. For the future.

  7. Heating. • Solar heating is one way of heating up a house. This isn’t just any old heating but it heats the house up in the winter and it keeps the house cool in the summer. • Solar panels are good as well because you could have them so that heat comes in but doesn’t go out. • Grass on the roofs so this acts like a duvet in the winter.

  8. Saving energy. • Windmills can save you energy by producing their own power and electricity. • Use energy saving light bulbs because they use less energy and they last longer. Or use fluorescent lighting because that too uses less energy and lasts longer. • Water can be saved by using special bag in toilet system to reduce the amount of water used when toilet is flushed.

  9. HOUSE STRUCTURE • We can use flat pack walls all made out of wood and then you simply put the foundations and stick the flat pack walls up and brick the house up round the wood. This method will be a quicker and simpler way of putting up houses in the future.

  10. Heating 2 • To save energy you could have solar heating instead of radiators that use lots more energy which supplies the house with heat. Houses for the future could be built with solar heating so you are saving quite a lot of energy. This would heat the water for the house as well. The is one problem though. This solar heating would only work in the day time because you only get sun in the daytime. In the winter the solar heating would keep the house warm. In the summer the solar cooler would keep the house cool. On the next slide there is a picture of how the solar heating and cooling works.

  17. First Floor-rooms Entrance The front door is wider than our doors today, this enables disabled people in wheelchairs to enter and exit a room easily. The frosted glass strips allow light to enter our house, but still let the occupants keep their privacy. The oak supports and the red door give a traditional and cosy feeling to the house.

  18. First Floor-Lounge Coffee table Sofa Lamp Rug

  19. Futuristic idea in the lounge The futurist idea in this room is the moveable ceiling. This a wooden ceiling which can be lowered in the winter, so that the warm air is trapped and not rising , and be pulled up in the summer to let the warm air rise, to keep the room cool and give the sensation of more space. 21. Futuristic idea in the dining room The new idea in this room is a ‘lazy Susan’ track. This is a small plate track which is set on the table, it carries food around the table so there is no stretching over people to get food. table track plates
