  2. A arte românica em Portugal surgiu durante a reconquista cristã. Igreja de S. Pedro de Rates • Distinguiu-se essencialmente na construção de castelos e igrejas.

  3. A Planta das igrejas era normalmente em cruz latina.  As igrejas maiores tinham três naves.

  4. As igrejas rurais eram de um só nave. • Tímpanos decorados. • Frestas em vez de janelas. Igreja de São Romão de Arões

  5. No interior eram decoradas com grossas colunas. • Os capiteis eram decorados com motivos animais ou naturais. Capitel da Sé Velha de Coimbra

  6.  Anexa à Igreja havia o campanário. (torre sineira). Igreja de Ganfei  As igrejas eram de pedras e quase sem aberturas. Igreja de Sanfins de Friestas

  7. As igrejas eram austeras. Muitas vezes serviam de refugio às populações durante os ataques. Sé Velha de Coimbra Sé de Lisboa

  8.  Os pórticos de arquivoltas tinham arcos que se apoiavam em colunas com capiteis decorados. • Igreja de Felgueiras Igreja de Rubiães
