  1. General news items Lucie Linssen CLIC physics and detector study meeting March 19th2012

  2. Organisational matters • Plans for setting up a structure => see LL’s presentation at the last meeting. • The emphasis will now be to set up a light “Memorandum of Agreement” document. This document will be: • On the one hand “light and flexible” to make it easy for institutes to join; • On the other hand “allowing institutes to have a say in setting directions and defining objectives to the project”. • We will now invite ILD and SiD to appoint one representative each to help setting up this process. • **** • Following the WWS meeting in Granada, WWS-OC membership is being adapted adiabatically to include more members involved in CLIC studies (e.g. H. Weerts is already appointed, and a proposal for WWS-OC membership of M. Thomson and LL is being considered).

CDR news • Accelerator CDR, Volume 1 • Was presented to the CERN scientific policy committee on 13/3; • Daniel Schulte will present his slides to us on Thursday 22/3 at 15 hrs; • https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=182887 • CDR Volume 1 editing • Status: http://project-clic-cdr.web.cern.ch/project-CLIC-CDR/ • Current document: http://project-clic-cdr.web.cern.ch/project-CLIC-CDR/CDR_Volume1.pdf(>100 MB, ~860 pages) • Physics & detector CDR, Volume 2, printing • Document now on arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/arXiv:1202.5940 • Printing: ~600 copies ordered end-February • Expected delivery ~1 month from order date • Volume 3 (no title yet) • For contents: see my slides at the last meeting • Work is ongoing, more detailed layout for each chapter was set up • Currently more discussions are ongoing about CLIC optimisation at 500 GeV and the related consequences for cost and for the higher-energy CLIC stages • E.g. upcoming CLIC meeting of 23/3: https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=182540
