  1. Inspiration from the endangered zone And you are just the crew to do it!

  2. What steps do we need to take to inspire others in helping to protect our endangered species?? First… • What animals will try to save? We must research to find out about different types of endangered animals. Second… • How will we inform others about our chosen animals? We must create a written product to present the information we have discovered through research. Third… • What will you do with the donated land? What kind of end product will you create? We must create an end product conveying what you will do with the land and how you will inspire others.

  3. Pick Your Animal

  4. What Do I Need to Know? • Create a KWL chart with your partner about the animal you have chosen to research.

  5. What is Important to Know? ** Your own knowledge, though valuable, is not enough in research. You must prove the facts about your animal by including the title of the book or website page where you found the information on your research guide. Points will be deducted for not recording the name of your sources. ** Topics to research • Physical characteristics of the animal • Typical size, color, abilities (such as jumping, swimming, etc.) • Lifespan • Habitat • Diet • Threats (enemies) • Cause of endangerment • Steps being taken to protect the animal

  6. Valuable Websites! Save yourself time… • http://www.kidsplanet.org/factsheets/map.html • http://www.earthsendangered.com/index.asp • http://animal.discovery.com/guides/endangered/endangered.html • http://www.worldwildlife.org/species/ • http://www.konicaminolta.com/kids/endangered_animals/
