  2. Introduction • The people of Kirabati would like to record speeches and choirs at gatherings at schools and halls. This manual provides instructions on how to record the events and place them on the internet as a podcast so they can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection.

  3. Recording system The microphone can be plugged into the iRiver to enable the performances to be recorded

  4. Audio editing software • Audacity is the software package that is being used for the audio editing. The program can be used to crop the files to reduce their length of any unwanted audio

  5. Hardware used • A Panasonic tough book was chosen as hardware as it is designed to be robust and will work under the conditions. With built in wifi the audio files can then be uploaded to the internet

  6. Power supply • The Array Solar Laptop Charger not only solves the problem of being able to charge the equipment where no electricity is available, it also is environmentally friendly.

  7. Summary • Once the tutorial on using the audio program audacity is run through with the participants, it should be a simple process to record, edit and upload the recordings.
