Results • -They were able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the purposes of color in the animal world; and correctly used different shapes to create unique and colorful pictures of animals that clearly identified where the particular animal lives and accurately portrayed what it looks like. -Students participated in class discussions; were able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the purposes of color in the animal world; and mostly used the correct shapes to create somewhat unique and colorful pictures of animals that vaguely identified where the particular animal lives and generally portrayed what it looks like. -Students participated minimally in class discussions; were unable to demonstrate a basic understanding of the purposes of color in the animal world; and created incomplete pictures that did not clearly identify a particular animal and demonstrated a lack of understanding about what shapes might identify the animal they had attempted to create.

  8. MainQuestions What colors and shapes can be found on animals? How do some animals use color to stay hidden? Why some snakes are brightly colored? What shapes can be found on animals? Talk about the students' favorite animals. What colors can be found on them?

Porpuse of the color in animals • Students were highly engaged in class discussions; were able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the purposes of color in the animal world; and correctly used different shapes to create unique and colorful pictures of animals that clearly identified where the particular animal lives and accurately portrayed what it looks like. • Students participated in class discussions; were able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the purposes of color in the animal world; and mostly used the correct shapes to create somewhat unique and colorful pictures of animals that vaguely identified where the particular animal lives and generally portrayed what it looks like.

  10. Methodology • Flash cards to help children identify colors and color words.  The cards can be used to play memory, matching, concentration game .  • Students look at magazines animals they cut paste the pictures on the book, they say what color and what shape is the animal.

  11. Students create their own animal, using different resources , such as construction papers ,any other recycle material. • Students draw the animals environment
