  1. Nesting Invenio as a digital content hub for multimedia applications CERN – May 7, 2012 Nesting Scrl - Venezia

  2. Nesting • ICT company based in Venice, Italy. • Focus on innovation and technology for art and cultural institutions and healthcare. • Development of NUI (Natural User Interface) software applications, especially on mobile devices. CERN May 7, 2012

  3. Invenio @ Nesting We are testing Invenio as a digital data repository that can: • store different types of data and metadata related to multimedia contents; • export its data on demand in customizable formats; • be accessed (read and write) from other systems and devices via local and internet network; • be customized with different user interfaces. CERN May 7, 2012

  4. Experiences done so far • Batch ingestion of a test set of digital photos (~10k); • Batch ingestion of a test set of metadata for the same photos; • Test customization of web interface; • Test of visual data mapping tools for quick metadata conversion (AltovaMapforce). CERN May 7, 2012

  5. Expectations We are interested in learning more about: • Real time access to the data stored in the system (API, RPC, etc) for querying, reading and writing. • Scheduled batch export of stored data in different formats; • User interface customization; • User management. CERN May 7, 2012
