General Timeline • Tuesday 15 July 08 • Opening Mass of welcome celebrated by George Cardinal Pell followed by concert • Wednesday 16 - Friday 18 July 08 • Catechesis (teaching) sessions every morning and Youth Festival events in afternoon/evening • Thursday 17 July 08 • Arrival and welcome of the Holy Father • Friday 18 July 08 - evening • Stations of the Cross - a re-enactment of Our Lord's Passion and Death • Saturday 19 July 08 • Pilgrimage walk to site of Closing Mass, evening Vigil with The Holy Father and sleep out 'under the stars’ • Sunday 20 July 08 • Closing Mass and concluding events

  3. St. Ignatius’ College, Riverview • Sunday 13 July - Friday 18 July • The beautiful school grounds, with a spectacular "river view", lends itself to an exciting three day festival with plenty of room for spiritual growth, outdoor fireworks and even indoor swimming!

  5. Randwick Racecourse • Acres: 8,799,120 ft2 • Circumference: 7306 ft • Up to 300,000 pilgrims will sleep out under the stars at Randwick • Another 500,000 participants are expected to attend the Final Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI

  6. WYD Package- A • Duration: Full Week; July 14 – July 20 • Accommodations: St. Ignatius’ College, Riverview • Meals: 7 Breakfasts, 6 Lunches, 5 Dinners • Transportation: Included (SICR to Events/Airport)

What are Catechesis Events? • Catechesis consists of gathering in groups, teaching from the Bishop, discussion and the celebration of Mass in the course of a morning. • Over 200 Catechesis sessions will be held in different locations throughout Sydney in the mornings for three days - Wednesday 16, Thursday 17 and Friday 18 July. • English Catechesis will be held at St. Ignatius’ College, Riverview

Youth Festival • Involving three dynamic afternoons of entertainment and activities from every corner of the globe the Youth Festival is an exciting chance for pilgrims and the public to take part in a vibrant cultural and spiritual exchange! • We were invited to participate in the Youth Festival with MAGiS08 • Workshop: Personal Vocation • Prayer: Taize
