Soil and People project supported by ILC focuses on capacity building and advocacy for sustainable soil management and locally managed ecosystems. Case studies and stakeholder forums aim to link land tenure, soil fertility, food production, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

  2. Soil and People project supported by ILC • Overall actions focused on capacity building and advocacy. • Involved organisations/countries: • Environment Liaison Centre International (ELCI), Kenya, • NGO BIOS (Moldova), • CICODEV-Africa (Senegal) and • ACF (Zambia)

  3. Results: • 2 cases of small scale farms were selected and documented. The case studies link people centred land tenure to soil fertility, food production, healthy biodiversity and sustainable development • In-country consultative meetings in Moldova to build consensus on the understanding of IYS and Engagement Strategy. • In-country stakeholders forum to disseminate case study findings. • Complementary activities with Soil and People project

  7. National stakeholders Forum - to enhance protection of pro-poor land tenure systems and to disseminate case study findings

  8. Complementary activities with Soil and People project:Analytical study of climate change resilience measures implemented in the Republic of Moldova, funded by GEF/IFAD, 2015

  9. Development of the Strategy for the implementation of “Inclusive Rural Economic and Climate Resilience Programme” (IFAD VI), funded by GEF/IFAD, 2015

  10. Development of the Practical Guidelines for climate change resilience measures in framework of IFAD VI Program, funded by GEF/IFAD, 2015

  11. Development of Environmental and Social Management Plans, funded by MCC • THVA • rehabilitated ten irrigation systems, • established 10 Water Users Associations for about 5000 agricultural producers with a total irrigated area of up to 15,000 ha.
