ThyatIra • Now the doctrine is being compared to a woman. • Religious systems as a whole are see as a woman in the Bible (Church, Israel) • Most women in the bible, when used in reference to religion, it always is a picture of a “false religion
ThyatIra • The book of Proverbs (in which the Jew during the time of tribulation will turn for wisdom) uses the term “strange women” 11 times and 10 times in the context of warning against. And 5 times it is connection with the term “flattery”
(Pro 2:16-17) To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
(Pro 5:3-5) For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
(Pro 23:27-28) For a whore is a deep ditch; and a strange woman is a narrow pit.She also lieth in wait as for a prey, and increaseth the transgressors among men.
Thyatira B. Indentifying the prophetess Jezebel “Odor of affliction”
ThyatIra • This woman Jezebel is a false religious system • The question is why God would call this false religious system by that nameJezebel. • The answer is so that the common man could identify her through the Bible, by comparing Scripture with Scripture
(1Co 2:13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Bible Study Rules 9. What can I learn by comparing scripture with scripture?
ThyatIra • The bottom line concerning the identity of the woman “Jezebel” in Revelation • In the Old Testament, Satan used a real woman called “Jezebel” to bring Baal in to pervert the true worship of God in Israel • In the Church age, Satan used a fugitive woman called “Jezebel” to bring Roman Catholicism in to pervert the true worship of God in Christianity. • It is the same system. Baal of the Old Testament is the Roman Catholic Church of the New Testament
