  5. Holiday Traditions Photo courtesy of: Google Obon Festival The Obon Festival is a three day holiday set to honor ones ancestors. It has become a big family reunion party. It is held around August 15th. At the Obon Festival there is carnival rides, fireworks, delicious food, parades, and dances. They wear colorful clothes and have lots of fun! At the night of the very last day, they light many lanterns and let them float down the river. This means that they are saying goodbye to their ancestors for another year.
