Decline and Fall of Roman Empire • Rome ruled over a large part of the ancient world • The invaders were different peoples belonging to groups known as Germanics, Slavs, and Huns • What groups invaded Rome and why? • The Roman Empire eventually fell. • They invaded for a variety of reasons; some wanted to share in Rome’s land and wealth, others were fleeing the Huns. • Foreign invaders played a role in bringing down the empire. • Internal factors also led to the empire’s eventual fall. These factors included economic and social, a decline in agriculture, and military and political problems. • What other factors played a role in the decline and fall of the empire?
