  2. What Did We Find - Challenges • Homogenous population • High levels of poverty • High number of first generation college students • High levels of math dual placement • Loss of college-ready & high performing students • Significant loss of at-risk students fall-to-fall • Significant loss of Dev Ed math students who failed to complete any math during the first year

  3. What Did We Find - Opportunities • IPEDS three-year cohort graduation rate that approximates 50% • Fall-to-fall retention of approximately 50% • Dev Ed completion rates (C or better) that ranged from 70-85% • Strong Dev Ed completion rates in the first college-level course • Mandatory testing, placement, orientation, and first year experience course

  4. What Did We Do – Our Interventions • Math Advising • CSI Advising • Develop a Comprehensive First-Year Experience • Advanced & Linked Courses

  5. Fall-to-Fall Retention Based on CSI Score (CSI Intervention Advising) Based on Achieving the Dream Data

  6. Fall-to-Fall Retention Based on Pell Status • (Math Advising & CSI Advising) • Based on Achieving the Dream Data

  7. Percent of Students Referred to Developmental Education Completing All Requirements During the First Year • **Students completing Math 090 with a grade of “A” are permitted to skip Math 091 – these students are considered non-completer • An alternative measure for math is those student completing any developmental math • during the first year (62.8% - baseline, 71.9% - 4th implementation, 9.1% increase) • Based on Achieving the Dream Data
