  2. What is Cognitive Radio(CR)? • The idea of cognitive radio was developed in May 2000 by Dr. Joseph Mitola and Gerald Q. Maguire Jr. • CR utilizes radio frequency spectrums • CR has a level of intelligence that allows it to make decisions on which radio frequencies to use

  3. Origin of Cognitive Radio • CR is based on the ideals from the Software-defined radio (SDR). • SDR fulfills communication needs and is small enough to place in miniature robotics • CR has the advantage of scanning its environment.
