  2. What is Cognitive Radio(CR)? • The idea of cognitive radio was developed in May 2000 by Dr. Joseph Mitola and Gerald Q. Maguire Jr. • CR utilizes radio frequency spectrums • CR has a level of intelligence that allows it to make decisions on which radio frequencies to use

  3. Origin of Cognitive Radio • CR is based on the ideals from the Software-defined radio (SDR). • SDR fulfills communication needs and is small enough to place in miniature robotics • CR has the advantage of scanning its environment.

  4. Advantages Provides more stable communication network Decreases seller power Disadvantages Cell phone and internet industry will fight over their cut Advantages and Disadvantages of CR
