Port State Control 2 - Specific tasks in the field of maritime safety New Information System (NIS): design and creation of an effective inspection database. • Every ship eligible • Risk profile based on: - ship particulars: type, age, flag, recognised organisation, company - inspections records: detentions, deficiencies • Will calculate and make public: - risk profile of every ship - next periodic inspection date Final version of proposal is not yet agreed

  9. Education, training and certification of seafarers 2 - Specific tasks in the field of maritime safety STCW database containing data on: • Seafarer certificates, endorsements • Education • Records of compliance of national systems • Training institutions with the requirements of the STCW

  10. Ro-ro ferries 2 - Specific tasks in the field of maritime safety Administration of Ro-ro ferry database for recording survey reports carried out under Directive 99/35/EC • Database upgrades • Harmonisation of procedures for providing information • Linked to port state control database

Port reception facilities 2 - Specific tasks in the field of maritime safety Database created after assessment on waste reception and handling plans adopted in accordance with article 5 of Directive 2000/59/EC. Marine Equipment Database public available on approved marine equipments on more than 21.000 certificates (www.mared.org).

Accident/Casualty investigation European database on maritime accidents: EMCIP (European Marine Casualty Information Platform) • Methodology for Marine Casualty Investigation - promote and facilitate cooperation on common standards • Data analysis - analysis of investigation reports and research of data - playback of casualty related Voyage Data Recorders (VDR) • Disseminate statistics and information - optimal exchange of findings from investigations
