  4. Purpose • To Improve the engineering experience at NC State University • We accomplish this through • Planning Events • Appropriating Funds to Engineering Organizations • Addressing Campus Issues

  5. Member Structure • Executive Board – President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary • Directors of Committees (7) • Department Representatives– 12 Departments • Members at Large

  6. Member Perks • Volunteering for Engineering Career Fair • Resumes in Resume Booklet passed to all companies • Leadership and Professional Development • Great Networking Opportunities • Possible Freshman Scholarship awarded at end of year

  8. Academic Committee • Director: Brandon Smith • SYNC Survey • Separate surveys for freshman and for upperclassmen • Purpose is to gain insight into student’s opinions of classes and curriculum in order to report to the engineering faculty • Dinner with the Dean

  9. Documentation Committee • Director: Karen Stabile • Maintain our website • Create/maintain a how-to page for members • Collect documents from other committees • Pictures from events • Information for planning their event

  10. E-Day • Director: Could be you! • Wednesday, September 28th • Collaboration with University Career Center • Career Fair Prep Night • Resume critiquing • Mock interviews • Panel of industry professionals • Free food!!!

  11. E-Week Committee • Director: Chris Morrow • National event that connects engineering organizations on campus • Competition - winners receive extra appropriations • Different event each day • Creativity encouraged • New ideas are welcome

  12. Internal Events Director: Breanne Long Purpose: plan events for the members of E-Council. Events: Members retreat Tailgating Other events Louisville, KY

NAESC CommitteeNational Association of Engineering Student Councils • Director: Matt Pavelko • Get/give ideas to improve councils • In 1982 Prude hosted a Midwestern Conference, two members started planning for a National Conference/Meeting of the Minds • North Atlantic Region/6 regions • Regional/National Conference • NC State Hosting Regional Conference!

Welcome Back Bash • Director: Hannah Carroll • Monday August 29th 5-7:30 PM • 18 Student organizations • 10 Companies • Activities: • Crossword Puzzle • Raffle • Grand prizes include a 19” LCD TV and gift cards from Target and Best Buy • Inflatable obstacle course • Frisbee • Corn hole • Food: • BBQ • Fried chicken • All the fixings • Vegetarian spread • Snow cones • Tea and lemonade • Volunteers needed! • Great way to get involved • learn about other student organizations around campus and participating companies • Help Us get the word out!
