Officiating • Important points • It is only youth hockey…not Stanley Cup play-offs • At the younger levels, the officials are learning the game…just like your players! • Most young officials quit after their first year…we need them more than they need us! • Game Time • Have exact change ready and delivered 30 minutes prior to game time

  6. Fair Play & Rule Changes • Fair Play • Goal is to create a safe and positive playing environment • In non-check, proper body positioning will be allowed • Eliminate intimidation • Verbal • Unnecessary contact • Opposing player not in possession of puck • Crap around the net! • Intent to injure, e.g. blow to head • Rule Change • Automatic 2 & 10 minute misconduct • Two in one game will include a game misconduct • All teams (Squirt and up) will need to schedule a mandatory on-ice overview (Players/Parents/Coaches) through the local referring association • Information available in Coaches tab on Swords/Sabres web site

  7. Scheduling • Swords web site (www.swordshockey.com) • Michelle Beach will forward log-in and password information via email • If you will have someone else (team Manager?) entering schedules she can link the person to your password • You need to enter all schedules in your team’s web page (walk through hand-out) • All Home games must include the letters “CNB” in the “ID” field (except Mites/ADM) • It is how we communicate with the referee’s association (OVHOA) to schedule them • Please also note the “Notify” section • May not want to check Team Managers and Team Members and Parents • MYHL Scheduling • Will take place Saturday, October 28th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Goggin Ice Arena in Oxford • Rob Clark will be coordinating the Sabres scheduling process • Michelle Beach will be available if we need to adjust some ice times to accommodate home games • All MYHL teams (except Bantam) should be sorted into Upper and Lower tiers per the team evaluation forms submitted • There are two extra sheets of ice currently on your schedule (added flexibility in scheduling) that will need to be turned in by October 7th • Your team can always purchase additional (weekend) ice by contacting the Swords Office (513-979-4590)
