  4. Exposition Doris wanted to keep the abandoned puppy, but her father said, “No.”

  5. Rising Action Doris told her parents all of the good things about the dog one night at supper.

  6. Rising Action Mr. and Mrs. Lacey ignored Doris.

  7. Rising Action Mr. Lacey put the puppy in the car and took it to the pound.

  8. Rising Action Doris cried herself to sleep.

  9. Rising Action Doris got hungry and went down to the kitchen for dinner.

  10. Climax Mr. Lacey told Doris to feed “her”dog before it died of starvation.

  11. Falling Action Mr. Lacey explained to Doris that he took the dog to the pound but couldn’t leave it there because of the poor conditions.

  12. Resolution Mr. Lacey told Doris to feed the dog, again.
