This study outlines Phase II of the STARDUST program, focusing on water and sediment quality assessment in the Schelde, Leie, Deule, and Spierre regions. Sampling was conducted in December 2003 at various sites, including Helkijn and Antoing. Parameters analyzed included surface water, dissolved trace metals, major ions, suspended matter, and sediment characteristics. Future sampling stations and seasonal timing were planned for 2004-2005 to ensure comprehensive data collection on sediment quality, porewater chemistry, and relevant trace metals, contributing to environmental monitoring and assessment.
