  2. Understanding Cullman's Municipal Government • What is a Municipality? • A municipality is a political unit organized by local residents to operate within a prescribed geographic area and incorporated for self-government.

U.S. Census 2000 listed Cullman’s population as 13,995.

The next election is scheduled for August 26, 2008.
