  2. Definitions: • Nationalism: feeling/demonstrating an active loyalty to one’s country • Conservatism: supporting traditional social & political institutions • Liberalism: political philosophy founded on the ideas of liberty & equality

  3. 4. Radicalism: supporting republicanism, abolition of the nobility, redistribution of property, wider enfranchisement, freedom of the press & religion 5. Socialism: economic system characterized by large state ownership of the means of production 6. Capitalism: economic system in which the means of production are privately owned

  4. Game Time! • Number 1 through 5 in your spiral/notes. • Each of you will be given a piece of paper to read to your classmates. You and your classmates are either socialist, conservative, radical, liberal, or nationalist. • Go around the class and read your paper to your classmates. Based on what you and your classmate say, figure out 1) what you are and 2) what your classmate(s) is. • Write down your answers, and we’ll see if you guess correctly.
