This report analyzes the responses of 399 HR professionals regarding severance payments to laid-off nonunion workers, based on a survey conducted between March 11 and March 20, 2008. Among 2,825 emails sent, a response rate of 15% was achieved, with 2,764 emails received. The study reveals that 22% of respondents indicated their organizations do not provide severance payments. The findings include information about severance payment duration and the necessity of signed release forms for liability protection related to employment actions.
