  2. Bessie was the first major jazz singer. On record! She worked very hard to do that. It was very because whites would not listen to her for two years. But they soon found out that she was very good. Her singing career.

  3. Bessie was very popular. • When Bessie was eighteen she traveled with Moses stroke. • In 1929 Bessie was in a movie Called St. Louis. • She was very big and was very popular with every one. • She was known asthe Queen of the Blues.

  4. A lot of people knew who she was. • Bessie was very popular in the twenties. • Her music was loved every where. • When some herd she was coming to town to sing people got very excited. • Photo of Bessie smith

  5. . • Bessie smith had own show. It was very successful. There was always at least 40 people on that show. • When the show first came out it was not popular but after 2 months it had more then 2,000 viewers.

  6. Every one wanted her songs. Her music spoke to people. How she did it shocks me. She started in the streets and now she is famous for her voice. I think that she is a great singer and she has a very pretty voice. So does every one who knew her.

  7. Bessie recorded a song with Louis Armstrong • Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong. • Bessie played with a lot of songs with other famous people. Like Louis Armstrong. They had a lot of fun working with each other.

  8. The day Bessie died When Bessie smith died. She was on her way to her last concert.Her husband was driving he thought that would be cool.Then a trunk came and he tried to turn but it was to late the truck already hit Bessie.That day was a very sad day.
