The Wiyot, a Native American tribe, inhabited the Northern California coast along the Pacific Ocean. Their diet consisted of clams, fish, salmon, and even marine mammals like sea lions and whales. They crafted rectangular shelters using redwood planks, featuring a smoke hole for fire. Wiyot clothing was made from rabbit and deer skins, providing warmth in winter. Their tools included canoes made of redwood and meticulously crafted baskets using techniques like twining. The Wiyot's rich cultural practices and deep connection to their environment shaped their way of life.
