  2. Summary • Daniel was a servant of King Darius. He lived in Babylon. He became King Darius’s wisest and most trusted advisor. But the other wise men were jealous of Daniel and plotted to get rid of him. They said that his servants should pray only him, or be thrown to the lions. So Daniel was taken to the lion’s den. The lions were fierce and hungry. King Darius lay awake all night and worrying about Daniel. So the king looked down into the pit and was amazed to see Daniel was quite unharmed.
