Discover the exciting interdisciplinary project, IDD (Itinéraires Découvertes), where students collaborate to explore research questions connecting science and sport. Over the course of 15-17 periods in one year, students work in teams, enhancing their group skills and learning to meet deadlines. This program emphasizes the importance of teamwork, individual contributions, and effective communication. Students will plan and conduct experiments, analyze results, and present findings through a group folder and PowerPoint. Join us on this journey of discovery and teamwork!

For Parents • IDD is an interdisciplinary subject. Team teaching (Science + Sport) • 15 - 17 periods over 1 year. Requires students to work and communicate as a team between lessons. • Students develop many group skills and are assessed on their ability to work as a team to certain deadlines. Individual contributions are encouraged.
Requirements for success • Understanding that an individual alone cannot perform all the work required and that everyone is good at something. • Close contact with colleagues (e-mail, group meetings) • Respect for commitments and deadlines
Phase 1- Research Questions • Brainstorming keywords connecting science and sport • From keywords to original research questions • Noting and organizing what is already known about your subject - 1° and 2° sources
Phase 2 - Experiments • The group’s predictions - what will we find? • Planning the experiments (equipment, data tables) • Performing the experiments & recording measurements
Phase 3 - Analysis • Comparing results with predictions • Finding hypotheses • Suggesting improvements and further research
Presentation • A group folder containing: • pertinent hand-written notes with references + dates • images or diagrams (max printed = 2) • results tables (printing permitted) • a discussion of your results including graphs (max printed = 2) + • A powerpoint presentation • short notes in language ‘A’ spoken in language ‘B’
