Critical Path Analysis (CPA) is essential for efficient project management. In this framework, edges symbolize activities, while nodes (or vertices) signify the completion of one activity and the commencement of subsequent ones. Key concepts include the Immediate Predecessor, which must finish before the next starts, and Early Start Time (EST), marking when an activity can begin after predecessors are complete. Float Time indicates flexibility between critical and non-critical activities. The Critical Path highlights the sequence of activities that directly affect project completion time, ensuring timely delivery.

In a critical path analysis, edges represent activities. • Nodes (vertices) represent the end of one activity and the start of subsequent activities. • The immediate predecessor of an activity is an activity that must be completed before the next activity can commence.
The earliest start time (EST) is the earliest that any activity can be started after all prior activities have been completed and is recorded in the triangle preceding the activity. • Float time is the difference in time between those activities that cannot be delayed and those that can. • The latest start time is the latest time that an activity may begin without delaying the entire project.
The critical path is the path through the network along activities that cannot be delayed without delaying the entire project. • Ex 15B, Q. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11b, 11d, 12
