  2. Today’s Agenda • Parking Lot (5 minutes) • Teachers write questions/comments/concerns on a sticky-note and place it in the parking lot. These items will have priority during Q & A time. • Announcements from DPS & DPI (5-10 minutes) • Mini-PD (30-35 minutes) • Developing Performance Tasks • Questions, Comments & Concerns (15 minutes) • Parking lot items will be answered first.

  4. Guiding Question • How can my PLC partner(s) and I use Common Formative Assessments to guide instruction? • How do I develop a performance task that can be used as a Small Goal CFA?

  5. With My PLC Partner(s), I Can… • Determine how best to assess learning targets. • Create an assessment that will evaluate student mastery of learning targets. • Develop a rubric that gives students descriptive feedback and helps me to collect data about student mastery.

Cumulative Assessments Small Goal Assessments Performance Tasks – Project or Product Developed by PLC Graded with a rubric Addresses the learning targets that can’t be assessed by a multiple choice test. • Multiple choice – from a test bank • Developed by CIA Staff • GradedScantron • Addresses the objective knowledge and skills of unit.

  11. Characteristics of a Performance Task • The task presents students with a problem (preferably real-world). • Students provide a tangible product for a defined audience. • Evaluation criteria are appropriate to the task and known to students in advance.
