  2. Cause of Event • On Sept. 15, 1963 the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL was bombed with 19 sticks of dynamite, but wasn’t intended t kill anyone. • The blast was only meant to instill fear into those supporting the civil rights.

  3. Civil Rights Movement • Many white strangers visited the grieving families after the tragic event to express their sorrow. • The action that took place had a major effect on the nation and the civil rights movement.
