Healing Progress of 72-Year-Old Female with DM II After External Fixation: A Case Study

This case study explores the wound healing process of a 72-year-old female patient with Type II Diabetes Mellitus (DM II) who underwent external fixation. On Day 1, the wound cavity measured 3.5 x 2.5 cm (10.5 mL volume), and Pgel was applied. By Day 23, the cavity reduced to 1.2 x 0.25 cm (1.6 mL volume). After three Pgel applications by Day 28, an inspection was conducted showing marked improvement. Wound dressing involved Pgel, Promogran, Mepilex, and absorbent gauze fixation, showcasing the effectiveness of tailored wound care strategies in diabetic patients.
