O.K., these are really the basics! • Triggered by “head” verbs e.g. “thinking, perceiving, knowing, saying, hearing, feeling, realizing, knowing, hoping, etc.” Direct Statement: Jon Bon Jovi is awesome. Indirect Statement: I think THAT Jon Bon Jovi is awesome. • Subject is in the ACCUSATIVE CASE • Verb is an INFINITIVE; it must agree with the accusative subject.
