Before you begin… • Listen carefully to the teachers instructions. • Carefully read any information given to you. • Ask questions if you don’t understand something.
Keep your table and the classroom floor picked up. Clean up any spills when they happen. Keep your work area clean. This means….

Use the equipment in a dryarea Use with dry hands When using electrical equipment…
If there are any accidents… • Tell your teacher right away! • Do not touch broken glass!
We will be working with chemicals in this class. • Nevertaste or smell a chemical unless your teacher says it’s ok. X X X X
When your teacher says it’s ok to smell…. • Hold the container with the chemical about 2 inches away from your face. • Use your hand (not the one holding the chemical!) to wave the fumes toward your nose. • This is called wafting!
Rinse your eyes with water immediately! Rinse for at least 15 minutes. And of course…tell your teacher. If you get any chemicals in your eye…
When you are done with the chemicals, dispose of them the way your teacher asks you to. • Please use chemicals carefully!
Be kind to them… They are alive! You may be working with plants and animals
